Fruits and Nuts

Just now getting around to posting, so I'm doing some retroactive stuff. This one's from 18 July 2007:

Jess is my roommate. I'm really lucky to have such a friend as she, I think I would go crazy if she wasn't here. She goes out on convoys for about 4 days at a time, then she's home for two days, then goes back out. I miss her when she's gone, but it actually is the perfect balance, because I still get my alone time to relax and be by myself in my own space, and then when she's here it's like a slumber party!!

I built our desk!! It's HUGE. It fills up the whole length between our beds, about an inch taller than the old one, and about 6 inches or so deeper. I put the bookshelf that was on the floor up on the desk between my bed and the window, and plugged the power converter in next to her bed and put a power strip from that to the middle of the desk, so we each have a couple outlets for our computer, etc. The speakers are plugged into the outlet on my side of the window, with a small speaker on each side of the desk. All the dictionaries and grammar books are on the top shelf, all the novels and religious books on the bottom shelf, and all the texts and medical books are between the end of the shelf and the bedpost. I put the field desk right next to my locker, and the plastic drawers on top of that. I put all the medical stuff in two boxes on top of my locker, all personal hygiene and cleaning stuff is in the field desk. My nightstand is under the desk between our two chairs, and my scrapbook stuff is on top of it under the desk. I jacked a bench from the back of the legal office, it's where the old one was outside next to our steps it looks awesome.
